Announcing a book that was over two years in the making:

Unity Game Coding Using C#

This asset is a book (in PDF form) that teaches existing programmers (and very smart non-programmers) how to use C# to create games and other simulations in the Unity engine. The working examples are (or will be) provided as free assets. Search under the publish name, Colorado Game Coders LLC.

As a purchaser you will have access to all twelve chapters and unlike hard-copy books, this one will continue to be updated. So, for example you could use it now to help you with 4.5 but also expect it to be updated for future Unity versions!

Included in this version are four chapters: Introduction, World Creation , OOP the Unity Way and just added, Interaction Mechanisms.

Like a printed book, this includes a table of contents, forward, chapters and index.

Additionally, an extra PDF is included for the Unity keyboard shortcuts.

All associated assets will be provided as free assets (either as normal assets, or packages within packages or zips) to allow you to build the example games in a step-by-step manner.

You can find the free chapter, support material, and video(s) here. Please, consider visiting this book's forum, as well.

This book was designed for practitioners (and advanced students) who want a more comprehensive approach to using C# in the Unity environment. It was going to be published on October 15, 2014 by A K Peters/CRC Press but the author decided that a better approach would be to stay electronic so that he could update the book as changes in Unity occur - as a purchaser you will of course have access to these free upgrades since using edition/version approach that keeps pace with major unity versions.

Key Features (of the whole set)
-Advances (gradually at first) through a series of actual game development scenarios
-Includes 3D and 2D scenes that allow readers to "play" with the engine
-Covers both object-oriented and component-oriented development
-Important API's, events and paradigms are detailed in depth
-Tips and best-practices help the reader become comfortable with Unity

Note: To keep the assets to a reasonable size and also to allow the reader to choose what sections they're interested in, the associated examples and game assets will be found as freely provided assets. The other chapters will be included here as they finish their final stages of editing and testing by simply adding them to the PDF. These other chapters include such specific areas as Interaction, 2D, Mecanim, AI, Physics and so forth.

Requirements: The provided assets requires Blender (2.6+) to be installed. The book itself requires a PDF reader.

Thank you for your support,
