Token Wars is a 2D Army simulation with free roaming AI components. In this package, we’ll teach you how to make a simple foundation for a token-based game that you will be able to build on with your own personal style and ideas. In this simulation, each army is composed of different warriors represented by 2D tokens.
You can either build this project from scratch or dissect the code to see how it functions. As you go through the tutorial, each section of code is explained in detail with descriptions and explanations of how the code works and what its purpose will be. The complete code is included in the tutorial for easy cut-and-paste into your favorite C# editor. The concepts covered in this training include: 1) create units with various stats like hit-points and damage, 2) create formations of units with rank and position, 3) create flags for ally and enemy teams, and 4) create AI for roaming, targeting, and attacking.
By purchasing this package, you are authorized to use this code as the foundation for your own token-based games released in executable formats. The documentation folder includes the fully illustrated 175-page PDF tutorial with C# source code, and some sample token images to get you started. Watch for future releases for more game adaptations like mouse controls, sound effects, and messaging.
