What is Strider?
Strider is a procedural animation tool that makes your character move more believably by changing stride instead of play rate.

Analog Speed Ramps
Animation clips have fixed speeds (e.g. idle, walk, run), but what about all of the movement speeds in between. Usually games limit speed to fixed step or they modify playback rate. Neither of these solutions are ideal for a number of reasons.

With strider this is no longer a problem. Stride scaling can be used to fill the gap between your animations, converting digital speeds to a believable smooth speed ramp.

Character Size / Scale Compensation
Characters of different sizes move at different rates using the same animations. This is not ideal for character creators or situations where you want different sized characters moving together. Strider's character scale feature can automatically compensate for this. Larger characters take smaller steps an smaller characters take larger steps all the while looking believable.

Speed Boosts and Slow Downs
Unless you want your character to look like an 'energizer' bunny after speed boosting, you need Strider to make their boost look believable without adversely affecting game-play. This also applies to slow downs, unless you are going for a freeze effect, your character should just take smaller steps rather than moving in slow motion.

Features (v1.1):
- Unique stride warping algorithm
- Character size / scale compensation
- Stride style options (run-time re targeting)
- Simple to use
- Simple scripting interface
- Several options for IK including built in options
- Optimized for Performance (Jobs, Burst etc.)
- Works with any playable graph animation system*
- Compatible with third party IK solutions**
- Works with Unity AnimationRigging package

Integrations (v1.1):
- Motion Matching for Unity

*Provided the animation system in question uses the Unity Playable Graph in a somewhat standard way, Strider can work with it seamlessly.

**Any IK system that runs in the Late Update or in a second playable graph should be compatible dependent on Strider IK settings.
