Smooth Sprite Outline is an easy to implement, compact, and functional solution to draw outlines for 2D Sprites and Textures.
It features a highly customizable outline shader, which does not require any additional setup - just create a material, drop on your sprite, add Sprite Outliner component, and fine tune to your liking!

It's a single pass Shader, which allows it to take advantage of Unity's dynamical batching, to save up on performance!
Three quality levels allow you to find the balance between visuals and speed. It also makes it more Mobile friendly!
Additional layers, post processing effects or scripts are not needed - all you need is to add a material and a component to your sprite.
Second shader designed for normal textures! If your game relies on 2D quads with textures, or render textures, you can also use this asset!
Works well with Unity's 2017 Sprite Mask and Sprite Atlases / Sprite Sheets! When working with Sprite Atlases, the packing policy should be set to default ("rectangle").

Note: In order for this effect to work, the sprite needs an additional margin of transparency - this is where the outline will be drawn. The transparent margin can be adjusted using "Rect Size" property on the shader.
