Procedural Sky is a Unity Script that is executed in editor mode to create procedurally generated and memory efficient SkyBoxes.
Here is a list of interesting characteristics of Procedural Sky:
- SkyBoxes are generated from a set of blended layers defined by the user.
- Three types of Layers are provided: Color, Gradient and Nebula.
- The Script is prepared for expansion, so the user can create its own layer types to achieve even better results.
- Separation of background sky and stars representations, which allow for less pixel density on textures and more memory efficiency.
- Full documentation describing all the parameters of the Script and each layer.
- The Script allows for a quick iteration, so the user can have fast feedback while tuning a SkyBox.
- Fast start by selecting a randomized SkyBox to not start from nothing.
- The final SkyBox is presented in pieces, so the user can have full access to control anything during runtime.
This Procedural Sky script is the result of a necessity to generate beautiful SkyBoxes in a quick way while being memory efficient for mobile devices.
