A set of scripts for guided missiles using Augmented Proportional Navigation, the same algorithm used in real world air-to-air missiles like the Sidewinder.
Proportional Navigation allows for much more efficient intercept behaviour than common "tail chase" missile guidance. The missile anticipates the target's future position and heads for the intercept point instead of trying to catch up to the target from behind.
Missile controls use the physics engine, allowing you to tweak their behaviour by adjusting thrust, turn rate, drag, etc. through the Inspector. Missiles will work in space (zero drag, zero gravity) or in the atmosphere (with drag and gravity).
Included in the package:
- missile and launcher script, both extensively commented
- thruster and explosion particle effects
- prefabs
- demonstration scenes
