● The Kit ●

The kit consists of mainly 3 meter pieces and are mostly 1 sided, so that you can for example swap the look of the outside of a wall to be different from the inside. The pieces in the kit are split into categories, pieces, styles and variations.

Here are the categories with the pieces in parenthesis:

  • Wall (Wall, Window socket, Doorway socket, Wall Sloped, Wall Peak)
  • Floor
  • Flat Ceiling
  • Roof (Roof, Corner Inner, Corner Outer, Peak, Cap, Corner, End, T-junction, Intersection)
  • Ceiling (Ceiling, Corner Inner, Corner Outer, Peak, Cap, Corner, End, T-junction, Intersection)
  • Pillar (Full size, 3 Quarter size, Half Size, Quarter size, Roof Wedge)
  • Stairs
  • Roof Eaves (Eaves, Sloped, Peak, Corner Inner, Corner Outer, Corner End)
  • Roof Ridge (Ridge, Cap, Eaves)
  • Covers (Door, Floor, Floor Corner Inner, Floor Corner Outer, Stairs)

Additionally there are plugs, which are the actual windows and doorways to fit their respective wall sockets. The wall sockets are walls with holes to fit these.

Covers are for covering up holes that are left because the kit is 1 sided.

Eaves is the roof overhanging the wall, while the ridge is the very top edge of a roof.

Styles currently in the pack:

3 Wall styles: Wood Planks, Stone Blocks, and Wattle and Daub.

3 Floor styles: Wood Planks, Stones and Checkered Tiles.

2 Roof styles: Bricks and Thatch.

2 Pillar styles: Wood and Stone.

1 Ceiling Style: Wood Planks

1 Cover Style: Wood.

1 Stairs.

The Wattle and Daub style have a couple of variations that change the layout of the frames. There are also 4 Windows and 4 Doors.

Explore the demo scene to see uses for all of these pieces, and check out the Display Scene to see them laid out.

● Scenes ●

  • Display Scene: Has all the included objects laid out in the scene for easy viewing.
  • Demo Scene: Includes 17 example houses/sheds made from the kits pieces, where 1 is fully decorated.

● Prefabs ●

There are 66 prefab props, and 111 structural prefabs.

The general intention behind the colliders in this pack is for character controllers moving around in an environment, so the smallest objects do not have any colliders, while the bigger ones have a box collider when it makes sense, but there are also 47 custom collider models applied to objects with more complex shapes.

● Props ●

2 Shelves, 5 Tables, 2 Chairs, 2 Stools, 2 benches, 2 Chests, 7 Crates/Boxes of different sizes, 2 cups, 3 jars, bottles, books, barrel, sack, wall mounted lantern, plate, bowl, goblet, pitcher, a cutlery set, poultry cage, candle, bucket, broom, coins, coin pouch and ladder.

● Materials ●

All objects use mostly one material, made from a simple custom shader that combines 3 textures. In addition there is a plain glass shader for the windows, and a material for the Candle flame.

The main material uses Shader Graph and works automatically for URP, HDRP and built-in render pipeline. The other materials you will have to convert the standard way.

For HDRP:

Edit -> Rendering -> Materials -> Convert All Built-in Materials to HDRP.

For URP:

Window -> Rendering -> Render Pipeline Converter.

Click the checkbox for “Material Upgrade”, then hit “Initialize And Convert” at the bottom.

Or you can:

Select PlainGlassMaterial, PlainGroundMaterial and CandleFlameMatrial in the “PolySaga/Materials” folder, and then go Edit -> Rendering -> Materials -> Convert Selected Built-in Materials to URP.

● Textures ●

For the main material there are 3 png textures (Color atlas, Emission Map, Attributes Map). The textures are 64x64 pixel size. The attributes map has Metallic info on the red channel and smoothness on the green.

There is also a light cookie for the lantern (128x128), and a simple candle flame texture (512x512).

● Geometry●

Props:

75 Meshes (66 + 9 collider meshes)

23892 triangles (23516 + 376 tris on colliders)

Structural:

149 Meshes (111 + 38 collider meshes)

31369 triangles (30294 + 1075 tris on colliders)

Total:

224 Meshes (177 + 47)

55261 triangles (53810 + 1451 tris on colliders)

● Scale ●

Doors are slightly bigger and stairs are wider to fit standard game sizes and gameplay spaces.

Recommended player collider size (but not necessary):

  • 1.7 unity units / meters tall
  • 0.5 unity units /meters wide
  • Camera at around 1.6m height
