Player Camera is a light package for a flexible In-Game camera that allows player free movement around the scene (collision included). If you are working on a project that does not have a main character to follow and has free movement around the map/scene, then this is the solution for you. It is a great asset for game categories such as strategy or tycoon. For types such as first or third person minor adjustments might be needed based on the desired behaviour.


This is an out-of-the-box solution that requires no coding and simple drag & drop of a prefab into the scene will do the trick. The code is well documented and easy to customize. Camera behavior can be adjusted without any coding with the settings available on the components. A bit more advance use might require coding, such as changing the follow target to the main component in game run-time (shown in demo scene).


All examples below are tested some two even demonstrated in simple scenes provided with the asset!


General use cases:

- Top-down view with or without following a character (use demonstrated in package scene)

- Space Real time strategy camera by restricting movement within a box (map) - And I mention, because it was tested and camera does not have a feature to move up and down with the terrain below it.

- Tycoon/Management type games

- Free spectator mode

- Follow player spectator mode (rotating around players)

- God mode (free mode without collision) & in-game debugging


Can also be used for (advance use - coding required):

- 3rd person camera (where player follows camera rotation)


Simple demo scenes included, but no extra 3D models or other assets!
