⚙️Usage
These heightmap textures can be used as brushes with the Unity terrain tools in order to paint features on your Unity terrain. Or you could use these heightmap textures in other assets like MicroVerse, Atlas, Map Magic 2, Vista, Gaia, etc.
Of course, you could use them in any other software you like, the sky is the limit!
🖌️Stamping
Blending heightmaps together using Unity's terrain tools is a quick and easy way to create awesome-looking terrain. The built-in editor provides a brush preview, so you can adjust your stamp in detail before applying it.
To use the Unity terrain stamping tool, first, create a new terrain.
Then, in the Terrain Inspector, click on the 'Edit Terrain' button. This will bring up the Terrain Editor window.
In the Terrain Editor window, select the 'Stamp' tool from the toolbar.
Then, in the 'Stamp Settings' panel, select the heightmap you want to use for your stamp. You can also adjust the strength and size of your stamp here.
Once you're happy with your stamp, apply it to your terrain! You can then use the other tools in the Terrain Editor to further refine your terrain.
❓How can I contact you?
Contact me at [email protected]! I am always happy to help. If there are some things missing, just write me a mail, explain what you are aiming for, and I will try to create some custom ones (which will be later released as an update for everyone!). If you have a problem, try to explain what you have done, and what version of Unity you are using, so I can reproduce the error. With these stamps there is not much to be done "wrong", if you are using another "editor tool", please contact the respective creator.
❓What file format are they?
All of them are .tiff (int 16, red channel) files. You can of course use a free online converter, to make them a .png file, which is much smaller. For "safety" I used this file type to always have the details/compression, regardless of what I am working on or in what software I am working on.
