The shield is animated and reacts to getting hit or colliding with other rigidbodies. It also uses a C# script to coordinate the shield's state and animations, with settings for getting hit, loading, breaking and regenerating. Code is well commented and easy to configure to your needs.
The shield's shader is made entirely with VFX graph, with every node and subgraph clearly grouped and organized to be easily understandable and accessible.
