Hierarchy Explorer is a little Editor extension that expands the abilities of built-in hierarchy search function.
It enables the user to find objects by name, tag, layer, instance id or component type.
Moreover, you can customize your search by including the word case and object's enability to search or even use C# Regexes!
It also gives the options of inverting the selection and selecting the children, along with convenient shortcuts. The documentation is here.
