Here is a collection of 3 cartoonish special effects package that contains a cartoonish fire, sparks with trails and energy beam effects. These effects do not use any actual particles or trails and you can use them all on a single quad. All effects are adjustable with their material properties such as their colors, speed or shapes and they all respect the timescale of the game.
Energy Beam
The energy beam effect in the video uses one texture and is applied to a quad. You can use it with line renderer as well to aim the beam to a target position. The waving effect is procedurally done so the fluctuations always change.
Fire
As the video shows, this fire effect entirely consists of one material and one quad. You can select a custom shape for the fire with a texture map, also change the flame speed, detail and colors. With changing the flame texture you can have a more cartoonish or a realistic fire effect.
Sparks
The sparks fly around and loop back, leaving a perfectly smooth trail behind them. The sparks effect in the video is composed of a mesh with 10 polygons, although you can use it with a single quad as well. The smooth trail effect doesn't use the trail renderer and instead is done within the shader with a single texture so it's incredibly lightweight and also very suitable for mobile games. The trail opacity, length, spark color and speed is adjustable.
