C5 Dialogue System
Every game needs a good story, and the best stories are told through its characters. C5 has you covered, whether you're creating detailed, branching conversations like those in Planescape: Torment, or more cinematic experiences like in Mass Effect, or simply looking for an easy way to show new quests, open up books, or really anything that involves showing some words on a screen.
There are other dialogue system on the asset store, why should I choose this one?
Good question! There are some great dialogue systems available on the asset store, but they are expensive and broad in scope, with lots of integrated systems. Truth be told, most of the time you end up paying for things you'll never use. I'm a strong believer in the 'do one thing and do it well' design policy, so that's what I've done here. What you're getting is a simple system that does everything you need out of the box, but lacks the cluttered feel of many systems, and can integrate in seconds into any project without any real setup time. Great for beginners and professionals alike.
Features:
- A fast, powerful editor that uses an intuitive tree view to create branching dialogues
- Separated dialogue files saved as native Unity objects, making organisation easy and giving you the option to stream from AssetBundles
- Easily support group conversations between as many objects in your scene as you like
- A powerful GUI system that makes it easy to customise your dialogues to look just right
- Support for multiple GUIs, say for interfacing with a computer, character barks, or reading books
- Bring your characters to life with voice overs and Lua behaviour scripts that can animate your speakers
- Lua conditional scripts can show or hide dialogue options making for responsive and ever changing conversations
- Start conversations on random nodes to easily simulate how people might respond in real life
- Control camera angles for each node to make for a truly cinematic experience
- The full source code is available and documented, so you can extend it however you want
